About Prabhat Kumar College
Prabhat Kumar College (popularly known as Kanthi College or by the abbreviated PK College) is one of the oldest college, located in Contai, West Bengal, India. It was established on July 15, 1926, as an Art College with thirty-nine students under the University of Calcutta. In 1985, the college got affiliated to Vidyasagar University and awarded “Potential for Excellence” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Presently, around seven-thousand students are studying in PK college. The college has twenty-three different departments, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various specializations including Arts, Science and Commerce. It also provides Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. The objective of the college is to motivate the scholars in learning and academic excellence. Prabhat Kumar College is well-equipped with all the modern facilities including a central library, computer lab, guest house, sports, gymnasium and canteen. It is wi-fi enabled college and also offers separate hostel facilities for all the boys and girls.

I have been very happy with my experience. The professors are knowledgeable and helpful, the classes are challenging, and the campus is beautiful. I have also been able to get involved in a number of extracurricular activities, which has helped me to make friends and develop my interests.
